National Symposium on Science in Indian Classical Music

Along with the Annual Music and Dance Festival 2006 a three-day National Symposium was organised on 26th, 28th and 29th of January 2006. The theme for this Symposium is "Science in Indian Classical Music".. Every session had presentations by eminent scholars followed by interactive sessions. It is proposed to publish the proceedings of the symposium.

Participants:

Observers: The Sabha intends to inviting over a hundred observers from all over the country. Observers will be mostly students/upcoming artists possessing senior level knowledge. The observers will be eligible for participating in the interactive sessions and they need to register.

Students and Artists: A limited number of students and artists will be registered to attend the symposium. They are not allowed, in general to participate in the interactive sessions.

Members for the Sabha: All members of the Sabha and their spouses are welcome to attend the Symposium. However, members are required to register for the Symposium with a view to helping the planning of the seating arrangements and distribution of other Symposium material.

General Public: General public interested in attending the Symposium will have to register and acceptance of their registration is subject to availability of space.

Registration: Registration will commence on October 1st 2005 and closed on November 30 2005. There is no registration fee. All who have been accepted as registered participants will receive a confirmation note and pass before 31st Dec 2005.
